“Blame Me” out Now!

The latest single from L’Rain’s forthcoming record Fatigue

Brooklyn-born and based experimentalist and multi-instrumentalist L’Rain is back today to share the second single from Fatigue. “Blame Me” is a heart-rending meditation on guilt and loss and is accompanied by a surreal music video directed by Andy Swartz and starring Tinkcolorful.

Having dipped her toes in every corner of the arts, through her work at some of the most prestigious art institutions in NYC, including MoMa PS1, L’Rain’s second full-length Fatigue is a heavily blended collection of genres including gospel, jazz, neo-soul, post-punk, and R&B. L’Rain’s genre-stretching collages of personal experiences demand introspection from ready ears, as she maps the enormity of change.

Of the video, L’Rain says, “I am fascinated by clowns’ predilection for entropy and absurdity, and by their general role as the ultimate icon of emotional complexity (the tears of the clown…). There’s also something about “freaks” that make me feel at home: people who are deemed useless, dangerous, or too strange to understand. Who doesn’t feel misunderstood in this time of social media, social chaos, and social scarcity?” – L’Rain
