Recording Studio Residency!

We’re thrilled to announce that we are accepting applicants for a three day Recording Studio Residency (July 2022) at our home studio,
Gary’s Electric in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Residents will have the opportunity to workshop, develop, and record their own material, taking full advantage of the studio facility and engineering services at no cost. In addition to the studio time, the residency will include a pre-production meeting/Zoom and engineer introduction. Residents will also retain 100% ownership of everything they produce.

BIPOC applicants will be prioritized, but all are welcome to apply. No prior recording experience is required. Applicants should be based in or able to travel to New York. We will accept applications through May 15th, and then work with the selected applicant to schedule three days of studio time in July, 2022.

Gary’s Electric is a world-class recording studio located in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. The studio offers a vast selection of both vintage and contemporary recording gear, offering all the necessities to create incredible sounding records. All gear aside, the crux of what Gary’s has to offer is the live room—comprising of 1,000 square feet with 30-foot ceilings, plus five additional partitioned sound isolation booths. With a large private lounge, kitchen, and two baths (one with a shower), Gary’s has the space and matching stellar acoustics to take any size project from start to finish.
